In the classroom
Bring the spirit of the drum to your school! Drumming is a fun and engaging activity that offers numerous benefits for students. Firstly, it enhances cognitive function and coordination, as rhythmic patterns stimulate various areas of the brain. Additionally, drumming fosters creativity and self-expression, allowing students to explore their musical talents in a supportive environment. Furthermore, it promotes teamwork and communication skills, teaching students the importance of collaboration. Drumming can also be a powerful tool for students to learn about cultural diversity. Lastly, drumming serves as a powerful stress-reliever, offering students a healthy outlet for emotional expression and relaxation. By incorporating drumming into school programs, educators can enrich students’ learning experiences while nurturing their holistic development.
Assemblies
Our school assemblies offer a dynamic and culturally enriching experience for students. We offer a short performance of African music and dance, including interactive elements for the whole audience, and talk about the history and construction of the various instruments, meanings of the dances, and the traditions and cultures they come from. These vibrant showcases celebrate diversity and promote cultural awareness, fostering an inclusive environment where students can appreciate the richness of different traditions.
